MEET PETE

This Is Home.

For Pete Gamboa, Bexar County isn't simply a place where he has worked.

It's home.

Pete grew up here, built his career here, and raised his family here. His roots in the community have shaped the way he views public service: not as a job, but as a responsibility to the people and communities he knows personally.

After more than three decades in law enforcement, Pete understands both sides of the badge—the responsibility carried by those who serve and the expectations of the people they protect.

His leadership approach is grounded in integrity, accountability, professionalism, compassion, and service.

More Than Three Decades of Commitment

Throughout his career, Pete has served in leadership roles across:

  • Jail/ Corrections
  • Gang Unit
  • Patrol
  • Mounted Patrol
  • Criminal investigations
  • Special Operations
  • Intelligence
  • Executive command

His experience includes supervising complex investigations, developing law enforcement training programs, overseeing specialized units, mentoring officers, and implementing strategies intended to improve public safety.

Leadership That Starts With Service

Pete believes a badge is more than a symbol of authority, it is a Responsibility to those that we swore to Protect and Serve.

It is a promise to serve.

He believes law enforcement leaders must hold themselves and their organizations accountable while ensuring the men and women serving in the field have the training, resources, and leadership they need to do their jobs safely and professionally.

A Personal Connection

Pete's commitment to this community is also personal.

He is a son, brother, Uncle, husband, father, and grandfather who has raised his family here. His faith, family, and community remain central to who he is.

The people who live here aren't abstract numbers to Pete. They are neighbors, friends, colleagues, family members, and people he has spent his career serving.
